Sustainability at Tikka Spikes

As a Nordic manufacturer, environmental friendliness, honesty and sustainability are in our DNA. Our sustainability work spans three key pillars: environmental responsibility, social sustainability, and ethical business. Here’s how we put those values into action.

Our sustainability goals include strengthening sustainability mindset and climate awareness within the company, promoting sustainable use of natural resources, and ensuring the wellbeing, equality, and inclusion of our employees. We are committed to maintaining open, honest practices in everything we do.

In the long term, our ambition is to become carbon neutral. As we move forward with our sustainability reporting (coming soon), we’ll continue to define the concrete steps that take us there.

Environmental sustainability

We’re committed to minimizing our environmental impact through long-term investments, smart energy use, and continuous improvement.

  • 100% renewable energy: Our production runs entirely on wind power.
  • Reduced water use: We’ve cut our water consumption by 60% in the past three years.
  • Recycling and circularity: We recycle all possible materials – including oils – and are part of a producer responsibility network for packaging.
  • Energy efficiency upgrades: We’ve replaced all lighting with LED, installed a new HVAC system, and modernized lifting doors to reduce heat loss.
  • VOC gas treatment: Our RTO incineration system neutralizes harmful emissions before they reach the air.
  • Low-emission logistics: We try to avoid air freight and prioritize land and sea routes with larger shipment sizes.
  • Heat recovery plans: A heat recovery system is planned for 2026–2027 to further improve efficiency.

We hold ourselves, and our partners, to high standards. We are committed to ethical, transparent business at every level of our operations. While our current sustainability reporting does not yet cover our entire value chain, we are actively working towards it.

  • Code of Conduct: All suppliers must commit to our Code of Conduct, which is based on Finnish and international ethical standards.
  • Audited supplier relationships: Our largest suppliers are audited in person, and we check all new partners against sanctions lists.
  • Community impact: We employ 60+ people locally, support schools with internships and project work opportunities, and purchase services from nearby businesses.
  • Sustainable investments: We continuously explore new technologies and stay at the forefront of industry developments – always looking for ways to improve quality, safety, and energy efficiency.
